About Ebony Wood

Of African origin, Ebony wood is rare and widely used in the manufacture of furniture, decorative objects and musical instruments such as the oboe, piano and transverse flute, due to its long durability. Ebony is the name used to refer to trees of the genus Diospyros, of the family of ebanaceae, more specifically those belonging to the species Diospyros ebenum.
